Group Tours and School/Youth Field Trips
Docent-guided group tours and school field trips offer inspiring and educational experiences covering WWII, with an emphasis on aviation. Our museum and tours are ideal for schools, clubs, business groups and adventurers of all kinds!
Tours start at one hour and includes the hangar with all the aircraft and the museum proper covering key events starting with XX and going into detail on the Doolittle Raid, and more!
Living History Flights may also be available by special arrangement. Please discuss with tour coordinator during follow-up and confirmation of tour reservation.
Read the information below about age minimums, and other requirements. Then submit a reservation request online at least two weeks in advance of the desired tour date.
Group Tours – Important Information
-
Times– Group tours are normally scheduled within regular museum hours which are Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 9 am to 4 pm, unless special arrangements are requested and approved by the museum tour coordinator.
-
Group size– Guided group tours require an eight-person minimum. Groups of 20 to 60 will be divided into groups of 20 – each having their own experienced docent as a guide. Groups of more than 60 can only be accommodated by special arrangement, such as by staggering groups at different times of the day.
Adult supervision rules for schools and youth groups:
One teacher is required for each school group, or one designated adult leader for each youth group. In addition, there must be one adult chaperone for every eight students or youths (ages eight to twelve).
Sorry, we do not offer guided school/field trip programs for child groups age 7 and under. Adult-leader-led preschooler group visits for ages 7 years and under are welcome. However, they must guide their own groups. The adult to child ratio for preschool age children is one adult per two preschoolers.
Food Service or Event Area
Food Service – There are no public food service facilities on site, nor are food and drink permitted in exhibit areas.
Private events – Occasionally we close the hangar/museum for private events. Click here for more details on renting the facility for private events.
